With International Women's Month in March, it's time to celebrate the women in our lives.

We thought it would be fun to look at six Netflix shows that have strong female characters as a focus. Whether your goal is to binge watch those that make you laugh, cry, or just plain feel, we've picked out all-time favourites with awesome female characters to watch on Netflix right now who kick butt, take names and command our attention.

Want a modern day high heel warrior? This is a series inspired by the life and career of former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine Joanna Coles, who is also the executive producer of this show. The series centers on three millennial women—Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens), Kat Edison (Aisha Dee), and Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) living in New York City, and they all work for a fictional international women’s magazine, Scarlet. Watch how they navigate their lives through the big city, including their career and romantic relationships.

A court-appointed legal guardian defrauds her older clients and traps them under her care but through legal means. Did we say women who kick butt at the start?
