Your phone is smarter than you think it is, and what you are about to discover is going to be a life-changer (inputs dramatic music here)… okay maybe not, but it will definitely make you look a lot smarter, and impress your friends around you.
1. Double tap on your assistive touch to screenshot
Before we found out about this hack, we had to do it in 4 taps on our assistive touch button in order to do a screenshot on our iPhones (who’s doing it this way too?). But this amazing hack only requires ONE double tap on your touch button.
Here’s how you can do this:
Go to Settings > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > Double Tap > Screenshot
2. Press down spacebar to shift your cursor
If you have clumsy fingers like us when you type your message, with the autocorrect messing up your text and you having to delete and retype again, you will find it a little annoying to accurately tap your finger at the point to edit your text. If you are like us feeling annoyed from this, this hack will be helpful for you.
All you have to do is to hold down the spacebar while in text mode, and you can easily slide your finger around to the point you want to edit your text at.
3. Track where your bae has been going (other than your house)
Oops, we are not trying to expose anything here.
Here’s how you can do this:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services > Significant Locations
4. Lock your camera focal point
Tap the screen while taking your photo to set the camera’s point of focus is what we always do. But, it can get very annoying when we move the camera and lose the focus point again. Here’s what you can do, press your screen for a second or two until the AE/AF LOCK box appears at the top. You can now move your phone around, or even swing it without losing its focus.
5. Group all your apps at one go
It can get a little troublesome to rearrange your apps every now and then, but with this hack, you easily arrange them at your fingertips. All you have to do is press down on one of the apps, and tap the other apps you would like to move or regroup. There you go!
6. Full page screenshot
If you are ever in a situation where you have to screenshot a few times on the same page just because it’s a scrolling page and you cannot fit all the contents into one screenshot. Here’s a hack that will save you lots of time by allowing you to screenshot the whole page at a go.
Here’s how you can do this:
Screenshot the page, select the preview that appears, select Full Page tap
7. Take selfies with just a tap
If you are still tapping on your camera icon, and flipping the camera mode in order to take a Selfie, you can easily do this in just one step.
Hold down the camera icon for 2 seconds until the selection appears. Select ‘Take Selfie’. There you go!
8. Use your iPhone as a spying device
This is like watching a scene of CSI where you try to ‘dig out some dirt’ from that person.
Here’s how you can do this:
Go to Settings > Control Center > Customise Controls > Add Hearing
Make sure it is connected to your AirPods.
Go to your Control Center, and turn on live listen. You can leave your phone there and hear everything remotely with your AirPods.
9. Lock your notes with a password
We tend to rely on our notes to store all our essential info, and sometimes passwords. Imagine if someone successfully unlocks your phone, all your confidential info you saved in your notes will be stolen by that hacker. So it’s actually a lot safer to password lock them.
Here’s how you can do this:
Settings > Notes > Create your password
Now you can safely hide all your confidential info under notes by swiping left and password lock it
10. Ignore a call with an auto text
If you are busy to answer an incoming call or if you would like to ignore it, you can set an auto text reply to be sent to whoever is calling you.
Here’s how you can do this:
Settings > Phone > Respond with Text
