2020 is keeping even our Halloween parties at bay. With 2nd waves already hitting several countries, you can be sure Singapore is not going to relax their measures for large party gatherings to pre-Covid time. Why not go a little creative for Halloween this year? Try some pumpkin carving activities with your family and friends, and even make it as a decor to show off your crafting skills to your guests.
1. Pumpkin Signage
Are you planning for a trick or treat session around your estate? Turn your pumpkin into an entrance signage to welcome your guests.
2. The Witch Pumpkin
If the broom fits, ride it. But if the pumpkin fits, why not make it first. Carve a friendly or witchy face and get creative with the eyelashes that go on it. Put on a hat, and wrap a piece of black felt around the neck and tie a ribbon at its ‘neck’ to complete the look.
3. The Medusa Pumpkin
Now your guests do not have to fear looking into the eyes of this medusa, they will not be turned into stone. Rather, they might just freeze for a good time just to admire this medusa pumpkin carving.
Tip: Measure and plan for eye holes to fit the LED lights inside.
4. The Lollipop Pumpkin
Do you need an area for your treats? Trick the kids, cause this lollipop pumpkin will not only do a great job in creating the mood, it also helps display your treats for Halloween.
5. The Emoji Pumpkin
Who says Halloween has to be scary? Carve out funny-looking pumpkins with various expressions to create a fun, light-hearted mood. Rope the kids in and join in the fun in carving these out.
6. The Futuristic Little Robots Pumpkin
It’s 2020, why not create a futuristic Halloween style like these little robot pumpkins? Get ready some metallic gold and silver spray paints for the robot color, and add some colourful nuts and bolts to create the expressions on the pumpkin.
7. Let the little boos out of these pumpkins
Stack three pumpkins nicely on top of each other to create this effect. Use cheesecloth for the three little boos, and glue black paper faces on them. Go wild and have fun creating their expressions.
8. The Mummy Pumpkin
Stack layers of the cut up pumpkin to create the mummy effect. Will your guest be able to hold out their fears with this set of beady bean eyes staring at them in the dark?
9. The Zombified Pumpkin
The dead have risen so has your pumpkin. Cut a hole at the top of the pumpkin and hollow out the inside. Carve out two oval eyes with them slightly tilted towards each other, and a wide, lopsided mouth below the eyes.
10. The Skeleton Marquee Pumpkin
For something neater and reusable for the many Halloweens to come, try carving an artificial pumpkin instead, and take it out again for display when it’s that time of the month again. Click here for a full tutorial on how to make this pumpkin.
